Cork and Dublin, here we come

Aido and I will be hitting Cork on Monday 7th January at around 6pm. Please let us know if you’d like to meet up for dinner. Feel free to leave suggestions for a venue.

Thanks to Damien for suggesting the Clarion hotel and thanks to Pat for booking it (remember Pat, 20 quid budget).

We’ll be in Dublin on Tuesday 8th of January and you can probably guess where we’re going to eat that evening. You got it, Jaipur. So, if you’d like to hang out and watch me spill curry all over myself then drop a comment. Say 7pm in town.

  2. Brian Caulfield 4 January 2008 at 12:36 pm #

    Paul,

I can’t make Cork but would be happy to join you on the 8th.

By the way, I departed Trinity Venture Capital at the end of September. The TVC e-mail account still works but, long term, better to use brian dot caulfield at putplace dot com…

    Regards,

    Brian Caulfield

    Great stuff Pat.

@Brian, er, I mean Joe? Look forward to seeing you in Dublin. Looks like your job isn’t the only thing you’ve changed. You’re obviously using Joe’s MyBlogLog account?

  4. Conor O'Neill 4 January 2008 at 1:10 pm #

Brian Caulfield is starting to look suspiciously like Joe Drumgoole :-)

  5. Paul Walsh 4 January 2008 at 1:12 pm #

    @conoro – that’s what happens when a VC takes over a company.

    Hi Paul,

Would like to meet you when you come to Cork, but it looks like I won’t be around on Monday. Hope you enjoy your trip, and a word of warning against ‘Kudos’ restaurant in the Clarion – decent food but don’t expect much by way of service!

    James

  7. Paul Walsh 4 January 2008 at 1:25 pm #

Thanks James and sorry to hear you won’t be around. Perhaps you could recommend one or two places? I don’t think we’ll eat at the Clarion.

  8. Conor O'Neill 4 January 2008 at 1:28 pm #

We’re discussing nosh locations here: http://conoro.jaiku.com/presence/22711496

  9. Paul Walsh 4 January 2008 at 1:30 pm #

Great stuff Conor. I don’t use Jaiku so feel free to let me know what you guys think. Don’t feel obliged to go for curry by the way :)

  10. [...] irrepressible Paul Walsh and Aido “Aido” McMahon from Segala will be paying visits to Cork and Dublin next week. They’d love to meet up for a pint, food and some arguments about [...]

@paulwalsh If you used Twitku you could be bi-textual and no one would know you weren’t actually in the main J-space.

  12. Paul Walsh 4 January 2008 at 1:43 pm #

@Bernie – sttooppp please. Don’t you think I’m enough of a twittering whore as it is :)

  13. Paul Campbell 4 January 2008 at 2:42 pm #

Curry 2.0 on Tuesday would be just sublime. Count me in.

    *starting to worry already.*

  14. Brian Caulfield 4 January 2008 at 2:44 pm #

    Paul,

No, I am not using Joe’s MyBlogLog account. I put in the PutPlace URL since I was using my PutPlace e-mail account and for some strange reason, my comment was automatically augmented with a nice picture (if such a thing exists) of Joe…

    Regards,

    Brian

  15. Paul Campbell 4 January 2008 at 2:45 pm #

Perhaps one of the best uses of the word ‘augment’ ever!

  16. Paul Walsh 4 January 2008 at 2:46 pm #

@Brian – it looks like someone is logged into MyBlogLog with the same details that you’ve used here. Can’t you get a picture of an attractive lady?

  17. Aebhric 6 January 2008 at 5:49 pm #

Unfortunate timing Paul, today is the first anniversary of my mother’s death.

Won’t be able to make either of the days.

  26. Paul Walsh 8 January 2008 at 9:26 am #

I’m so sorry Tom, my thoughts are with you. Had I remembered/known, I would have come another time to ensure you could make it :(

  27. Paul Walsh 8 January 2008 at 9:47 am #

There will be 12 of us tonight. See you at 7pm at Jaipur. Please text me if you’re unable to make it as we don’t want to end up with a bigger table than necessary if we can help it. 0044 7738 758 848.

  28. Martha Rotter 8 January 2008 at 9:54 am #

So bummed to miss this – it sounds really fun! Stuck in airports until Wednesday morning unfortunately, but will hopefully make the next one!

  29. Paul Walsh 8 January 2008 at 11:04 am #

@Martha – At least we have the 29th to look forward to. Unfortunately the other MSFT guys couldn’t make it either. http://tinyurl.com/2g2hpc

  30. Paul Walsh 8 January 2008 at 11:54 am #

@Martha – fancy sponsoring? Blacknight is my first sponsor. Email me if you’d like to learn more :) paul at segala dot com

    Hi Paul

If its not too late to put my name in the pot – I’d love to come along too. I don’t take up much space.

    James

  32. Paul Walsh 8 January 2008 at 3:18 pm #

    No worries James.

Everyone, I’m delayed in Cork so can we please meet at 7:30 instead of 7:00. Thanks.

  33. Marcus Mac Innes 8 January 2008 at 4:31 pm #

As per text message… I can now make it this evening. :)

  34. Marcus Mac Innes 8 January 2008 at 4:49 pm #

Paul just texted me to say that he won’t be there until 20:00 earliest. Myself, Eoghan McCabe, Joe Drumgoole and Paul Campbell are meeting in the The Long Hall pub beforehand (51 South Great George’s St). May I suggest we all meet there!

  35. Sorcha Moore 10 January 2008 at 4:05 pm #

Just wanted to congratulate you Paul on organizing such a great event. I met a lot of people, learned a lot of new stuff and really enjoyed the curry!! I look forward to the next event on the 29th.

  36. Sorcha Moore 10 January 2008 at 4:06 pm #
