The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines are seen as the defacto guidelines for measuring accessibility compliance.

As a W3C member, Segala is an active contributor to the WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 working group. Segala is also an active contributor to the WAI Evaluations & Repair Tools (ERT) Working Group.

We are the first to provide compliance Certificates for accessibility

Segala is the first company worldwide to provide a Trustmark that is hyperlinked to its certificate, allowing users to authenticate the claims made by the Web site owner.

The certificate resides on Segala’s server for trust and authenticity purposes and allows end users to report the misuse of a Trustmark to Segala.

We are the first to provide a machine-readable Trustmark

Segala is the first company worldwide to apply the concept of a machine-readable Trustmark to Web accessibility by providing a Content Label that can be discovered by search engines and browsers. This means that your site is more likely to be found in search results if it has the Segala Trustmark.

Segala is a sponsor member of the W3C Content Label Incubator Group (WCL-XG), helping to create content labelling standards for the Web.

This method is now being proposed by the W3C to replace the old W3C recommendation called PICS, as used by Microsoft Internet Explorer for filtering content.
